Introduction & Community Standards

The Campus Life Express (CLX) Student Marketplace, operated by Dandalin Sauki Ltd, empowers university students to buy, sell, and trade pre-owned academic materials, electronics, hostel equipment, and student essentials in a secure campus environment.

To protect students from fraud and ensure a respectful collegiate trading culture, all users must strictly adhere to these marketplace policies, listing standards, and safety meetup protocols.

Permitted vs. Prohibited Listings

All listings are subjected to automated filtering and student community moderation. Only authorized campus items are permitted:

  • Permitted Academic Goods: Textbooks, study notes, laboratory coats, drawing instruments, and approved scientific calculators.
  • Permitted Hostel Essentials: Laptops, mobile phones, rechargeable fans, reading lamps, hotplates, mattresses, and room decor.
  • Prohibited Contraband: Stolen items, examination leaks, forged documents, prescription medicines, weapons, and counterfeit goods.
  • Zero Tolerance: Academic dishonesty, sale of leaked tests, or unlawful substances results in an immediate permanent ban.

Listing Quality & Accurate Condition

Sellers are held to high standards of honesty and transparency to prevent misunderstandings:

  • Authentic Photographs: Upload clear, actual photos of the item you possess. Downloaded stock photos from online retail sites are strictly prohibited.
  • Disclose Defects: Clearly specify battery wear, cosmetic flaws, screen scratches, or missing cables in the item description.
  • Reasonable Student Pricing: Set transparent prices in Naira (₦). Price gouging on essential faculty study materials is prohibited.
  • Prompt Status Updates: Sellers must promptly mark items as sold once an exchange is concluded with a buyer.

Safe Meetups & Handover Protocols

Always prioritize your personal security when meeting peers to inspect and exchange goods:

  • Public Campus Landmarks: Arrange meetups in well-lit, populated spots like the University Library foyer, Student Union Building (SUB), or cafeteria.
  • Daylight Hours: Schedule inspections during daytime hours. Avoid private off-campus rooms or secluded quarters after dark.
  • Test Before Paying: Thoroughly power on gadgets, inspect device ports, and check textbook pages before confirming payment.
  • CLX Campus Courier: Use CLX verified errand runners for safe hostel delivery if unable to meet in person.

Payments & Anti-Fraud Protection

Protect your student allowance and avoid financial scams with these security practices:

  • No Advance Deposits: Never transfer funds in advance to a seller before physically inspecting the item on campus.
  • Confirm Bank Credit: Sellers must verify successful in-app bank credit notifications before releasing merchandise to a buyer.
  • Credential Protection: CLX staff will never ask for your bank PIN, card CVV, or one-time password (OTP).
  • Report Scams Promptly: Immediately flag suspicious users or fraudulent payment links to our Trust & Safety team.

Violations & Moderation Enforcement

Dandalin Sauki Ltd maintains strict enforcement procedures to maintain a reliable student marketplace:

  • First Infraction: Immediate removal of the offending listing and formal warning issued to the account holder.
  • Repeated Misrepresentation: 30-day suspension of marketplace selling privileges across all campus portals.
  • Fraud & Contraband: Permanent account termination, platform blacklist, and reporting to Campus Security authorities.
